New Morning room fixture UPDATED

Didn't plan to do this but when I saw this light for a whopping $39 at Ikea, I couldn't resist!  I think it looks so much better in here than the small chandelier they installed (which will soon be my office chandelier! See below!)

The quality of it is definitely much cheaper but I'm happy for the price.  I also love my centerpiece which is mostly from Ikea too!  And my table and chairs are too.  Love that store!

My fabulous living room rug

Of all the things on this blog, I have had so many compliments on this gray ikat rug I bought for my living room area:

I got it for a steal and decided to check the website where I got it, and sure enough, it's on sale again:

So the rug is called Ning Ikat and I got it in the largest size.  If you don't mind waiting, it's on backorder, but with their current coupon code, PRES70, the rug is only $180 with free shipping (normally over $600!).

A couple disclaimers: This rug looks fabulous but it loops up quite often...my dog loves to stretch out and her nails catch and loops will pull up.  There is no way to pull them through the underside of the rug so I snip them off.  This is my biggest complaint.

My other annoyance is it fuzzes up a lot so I vacuum it all the time.  Especially the areas where we walk the most, the gray fuzz will spread over the white areas and make it look dirty.

However, that being said, I am so glad I have a rug in here versus carpet and I can switch it whenever I want.  For that price, who wouldn't?

Hope this helps!

Security System

We decided to forego Guardian because it was crazy expensive and the monitoring required a 3 year contract.

Lately my husband has had to leave for a few business trips, leaving me and my son alone at home.  Our community is gated which does give us some sense of security, but I really missed not having the alarm.

I did some research and I'm a huge fan of Dave Ramsay.  He is a spokesperson for a company called Simplisafe and after looking around, I found it to be a great deal!  I purchased a refurbished package for around $200 and I installed the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.  I signed up for the basic $14.99 monitoring, and I love that I can cancel at anytime. I can even upgrade to a package that allows me to use my phone to arm/disarm or check activity.

Anyways, for those of you that didn't get an alarm but want something simple, with no contract, check it out!

Thanks for the money!

So I got a call from the model that someone was interested in a Florence but couldn't decide.  If I was willing to let then walk through mine, Ryan Homes would pay me $20!

Just got the check,  sweet!
